categories display in Alphabetical order only

How do I change the order of the categories as displayed by the module, I tried the normal joomla "Ordering" selection from 1-6 but they display in Alphabetical acending or decending only?

You can go 'Components' -> 'Virtuemart' -> 'Configuration' -> 'Product Order Settings' tab -> change 'Default category sort order'
