Hi ygirod,
OT eSporter Joomla template for Joomla 1.7 now does not support K2 content component(since it release, there is no K2 component for Joomla 1.7), just Joomla 1.5 version did that.
At the moment K2 supports Joomla 1.7 and we support K2 + Joomla 1.7 in newer template such as OT Fashion and OT Lobortis

Until we have a plan of making it support K2 in J1.7 version, you can install K2 in OT eSporter Joomla 1.7 version and follow the styling and modification of K2 in OT eSporter Joomla 1.5 by yourself to fit your need.
