Using the OT Social Share extension on Joomla 1.6 was created by mike o'con

Hi, I have downloaded the ot social share plugin file 'plg_otsocialshare_j17.zip'
I just want to verify that this is suitable for my joomla 1.6 install. On your site it refers to joomla 1.7 in the download page.
